Computerised tomography (CT) is a specialised x-ray examination which combines many X-ray images to generate cross-sectional views of the body with the aid of a powerful computer. It produces detailed images of internal organs and structures of the body in both 2D and in 3D. A CT scan is used to define normal and abnormal structures in the body to aid diagnosis.
CT guidance can be used to precisely direct needle and injections in deeper structures that can cause back pain, such as facet joints and nerve roots. In certain case CT scan is also used to assist in biopsies.
Commonly scanned areas with CT are-
• Bones and joints
• CT guided procedures- Facet joint or nerve root injections.
We offer a full range of CT examinations and CT guided procedures. Appointment times vary between 10- 30 min. depending on the area scanned.
