Clinical interest
Interests include all aspects of Interventional Radiology including Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR), Uterine artery embolisation (UFE) to treat uterine fibroids, tumour ablation in the liver and kidneys including TACE (transarterial chemoembolisation) and RFA (Radiofrequency ablation), TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) and the management and treatment of arterio-venous malformations (AVM’s).

Professor Watkinson was voted in the top ten operators in the UK to perform UAE in a national survey of professional colleagues performed by the Daily Mail in 2010 being described as “lovely with patients and giving them choices”.
